How to Use Ceramic Tile in a Bathroom

Decorating a bathroom is one of the most dreaded things a person can tackle. There just does not seem to be that many ideas on how to make it a beautiful place to spend your time. Showers, toilets, and sinks are not easy to decorate around. Did you know that ceramic tile can change boring into beautiful? It is true and there are a lot of creative ways for you to learn how to use ceramic tile in a bathroom.

Ceramic tiles come in a variety of colors, shapes, and patterns. There are ceramic tile pieces that resemble wood, there are ceramic tiles that appear to be stones. Some are smooth, some are rough, some are tiny shapes, and others are long rectangles or squares. With only a little creative thinking, you turn any bathroom into a place that is worth looking at, even if it is a small room.

All you have to do is decide on a tile style that you like. Your local hardware store should have a few possibilities and if you cannot find what you like there, you can use the internet. Choose different colors, different patterns, and truly imagine what your bathroom can become.

Once you have found the ceramic tiles, you can design your bathroom any way you want it. A white tile floor edged by darker tiles that are the same cut style can create a unique look on the floor. You can have a color that matches nicely in a shower stall or above the tub. You can continue your pattern on the walls and you get to choose whether it goes up an entire wall or only part way.

You can lay out the pattern that you want if you are doing it on the floor. This can make things a little simpler if you want to test how it will look before you make it permanent. Then, you need to apply tile adhesive and use a tile sealant on it to finish it off. The hardest part may be that up against the walls of your bathroom or in corners you may have to use tile cutters to break down the tile so that they will fit flush against the wall. Are you ready to see what your creative mind can do in your bathroom with a little help from ceramic tiles?
